Michael Shaps Volnay 2021 (750ml) Ischia finishing with a subtle whisperAn airy, cool and slightly more elegant nose isn't quite as spicy, but it is certainly higher toned with its combination of red and dark currant, cherry and discreetly floral suffused aromas. There is once again excellent energy to the strikingly well detailed flavors that are almost as mineral laden, all wrapped in a refreshing and youthfully austere finale. Good stuff and despite being firmly structured, this could actually be enjoyed young.
