Tenders – get the competitive advantage

I have seen that companies are increasingly being asked for environmental information in Tenders or Requests for Proposals. Customers want assurance that their suppliers offer quality, provide value for money and support their own principles.


Tenders typically ask for your policy and details of your Environmental Management System (e.g. ISO 14001).

So, make sure you use this to your advantage:

  • Provide a good environmental policy
  • Include evidence of your ISO 14001 certification
  • Consider their questions carefully – explain your company’s impact and what you are doing about it. Make it relevant to this tender.
  • Demonstrate how you help your customers meet their own environmental targets.


This helps build a relationship with the customer and demonstrates your advantage over competitors.
